Training and Capacity Building

Experts from WHRO has facilitated several training and capacity training programs for institutions including;

  • 2020            Meridian Port Services (MPS): A 2-day training for community sea turtle patrol team members at Ningo-Prampram in the greater Accra region, on sea turtle identification and patrol techniques.
  • 2020            Eni-Ghana/ ESL Consulting: One day training for community sea turtle patrol team members at Sanzule, in the Western region, on sea turtle identification and patrol techniques.
  • 2019            Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF): One-day training for community sea turtle patrol team members at Bereku, in the Central Region, on sea turtle identification and patrol techniques.
  • 2018            China Habour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC): A 2-day training and capacity building (lectures and fieldwork) for community sea turtle patrol team at Ningo and Prampram for offsetting impacts of the Tema Port Expansion Project.
  • 2018            Development Action Association (DAA): Skills Training on Mangrove Seedlings Production and Mangroves Reforestation for 100 community members from Tsokomey in the Greater Accra Region under the Sustainable Fisheries Management Project funded by USAID.
  • 2015            Resource and Environment Development Organisation (REDO): Skills Training on Mangrove Seedlings Production and Mangroves Reforestation for members of Friends of the Nation (FoN) and beneficiary community of SSIP project funded by French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM) towards conservation of Anlo wetlands in Shama, Ghana.
